I try to use my real name for many reasons...and number 1 is
1. Respect for the blog owner on not soliciting on a potential competitor's website
2. Brand recognition by name. In the SEO industry people will remember your name not your keyword text
3. If someone searches my name on Google then my name will popup

hi,

great post. I followed your link from stompernet.com and found this post. My question is, why you are using your name as text anchor on comments? Or is this unwritten rule? Because if anchor text in backlinks are important, why don't you use keywords as a name on comments? Or is the purpose "building a brand"?

If the purpose is brand building then I understand. But lots of posts there have no brand to build, like "Joe" as an achor text and link to his website. What is your opinion on this?
