Here’s an Article Directory List that will come in handy for article submissions. Please make sure to read SEO Article writing before submitting any articles. I would recommend changing your content, and you may want to change your anchor text for your links on every 3 articles you submit.
Some websites have a list of 50 article directories, and some marketers will advertise that they will submit your article to over 100 directories. I don’t think it’s necessary, and normally the best directories require manual submissions.
Here’s how/why I picked these sites.
1. Ranks on Google – I probably submitted to over 300-400 different directories but only a few actually rank on the top 5 pages of Google. I started to see a pattern, and decided to start weeding out my list. I hired a few article submission companies to see if there were other directories that they might use. This can be a good strategy which helped me find a couple that were ‘gold nuggets’. If you plan on hiring anyone for article submission/writing, make SURE to review the article for correct spelling AND to optimize the title! I have seen a lot of companies come up with junk titles that never get ranked by the Search Engines.
2. Age of Site – It’s no secret that EzineArticles is one of the best article directory. I noticed that their domain was created in 1999. Age of an article directory plays a big factor in authority ranking. Always make sure to WhoIs the directory to see the age, when the website first broadcasted with archive.org, and to see how many visitors they receive.
3. Amount of visitors – This is very important as most visitors that come to an article directory are coming from Search Engines. If they have low amount of visitors it means they are not recognized that well by the Search Engines. Ezine receives over 10 million visitors per month. It’s obvious that they are not receiving these visitors from referrals or direct visitors. Most of these visitors are coming from optimized articles showing up on the top 10 of Google.
Submitting your article to these 14 directories will take you a long way. There maybe a few more out there for specific niches, but these will take most niches.
