Sources
Primary sources come first: government records, official websites, court and appraisal district records, and documents an organization publishes about itself. Secondary sources, such as newspapers and published histories, are used when no primary source exists. Every entry lists its sources and the date each was accessed.
Verification
Entries are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, working from the sources listed on each page. A fact goes into an entry only when one of those sources supports it. The date the sources were checked appears near the top of the entry.
Re-verification schedule
| Entry type | Checked again |
|---|---|
| Offices with officeholders | Every 90 days, and after any election or appointment |
| Restaurants | Every 6 months |
| Sports teams | Each season |
| Datasets | Yearly, when new rates certify |
| Places, districts and guides | Every 12 months |
| Historical pages | Every 24 months |
People
Century House writes about historical figures, and about public officials in their official roles. It does not publish profiles of private individuals.
Facts that change often
Officeholders, coaches, hours and menus change often. Each of these lives in one place on the site, or is linked to the official source instead of being copied.
Closures and changes
When a restaurant, business or institution closes, its entry becomes a history page. Entries are not deleted.
What is never published
Ratings, reviews, best-of lists, invented quotes and unverified figures. Entries are written in a neutral voice.
